Description
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a vertical buff quill, tip down, shaft gold, behind two gold arrows in saltire heads up with a blue scroll lined gold passing over the tip of the quill, bearing the inscription LEVY THE REQUIREMENT in gold.

Symbolism
Buff is traditionally associated with Support Battalions and reflects the heritage and history of the Battalion.  Blue alludes to the units World War II service in the Pacific Theater.  The quill is a symbol for the written word and represents the organizations systematic processes.  The arrows refer to military supplies and are crossed to represent strength and support.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 327th Supply and Service Battalion on 2 January 1969.  It was redesignated with the description and symbolism revised for the 327th Support Battalion on 23 June 1994.  The insignia was redesignated for the 327th Quartermaster Battalion effective 16 September 2002.

Crest

That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve:  From a wreath Or and Azure, the Lexington Minute Man Proper.  The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the common in Lexington, Massachusetts.
